This afternoon at 2:00pm ET the Federal Reserve will release its Beige Book, which is a gathering of "anecdotal information on current economic conditions" by each Federal Reserve Bank in their district.
President Obama is set to speak from Ohio today around 2:00pm ET and will focus on economic recovery and will push for tax cuts for small businesses that hire more employees.
The president will set forth 3 proposals:
-$200 billion in tax breaks for businesses that invest in new plants and equipment
-$100 billion extension of the business tax credit for research and development
-$50 billion over the next decade to improve roads, rails and other infrastructure.
This morning House Republican leader John Boehner today called for a 2-year freeze on all current US rates. He also has calls for Congress to freeze government spending for next year at 2008 levels.
The Treasury will sell $21B 1-Year T Notes today with the results to be released at 1:00pm ET.
